On Wednesday we went on a Welly Waddle!
By taking part in this Welly Waddle we all helped to raise money for the Scottish Cot Death Trust.

It was great fun!

Here we all are getting ready to go! Time for the Welly Waddle to begin!

It was the perfect day for a Welly Waddle.
Well it was raining and there were certainly plenty of puddles to be found!

It wasn't long before we found our first little puddle to splash in!

We walked along the shore path.
Lots of us were interested to see the boats and lots of us were interested to see the many slugs too.
We even saw a speed boat and Mrs McIntosh found a hairy caterpillar.

Soon we found an even bigger puddle!
Like the story 'Going on a Bear Hunt' we couldn't go over it, we couldn't go under it so oh no, we had to go through it!

Soon it was time for a photograph or two!
It was time to smile and shout 'Welly Waddle'

Soon we found the biggest puddle we had ever seen!

We couldn't resist a bit more puddle jumping!

Lots of this puddle came back to the nursery with us!

Then it was time to go back to the nursey for our snack and our Welly Boot Song!

A huge thank you to everyone who came with us and for all your support and sponsor money that we have received so far.

We have now started to plant in the soil in the nursery beds.

We have planted eight strawberry plants.
We are hoping that they grow lots of strawberries and we can have them at our snack time!

We have planted some tattie seed too!
This week we have been really busy preparing our raised beds in the garden area outside.

We had to dig the soil. It was hard work!
Lots of us were busy looking for weeds. We had to try and take out the weeds and their roots.
Lots of us were keen to find worms while we were digging!

We found so many worms that we have made a Wormery to have in the nursery!
Lots of us were keen to hold the worms and are excited to watch what they do inside our new wormery!
Last week in Nursery we had a visitor.
Patsy from 'Book Bug' came to visit us. It was great fun!

We all enjoyed listening to the story called 'Shark in the Park'.
It was a super story and we had to look through our telescopes.

We had good fun with the Lycra, singing 'What shall we do with the bouncing Book Bug' and lots of other fun songs too.

Yesterday we had great fun with Dave and his puppets.

We all had a shot at playing with our own puppet.

Dave had lots to choose from and it was tricky to decide which one to pick!

We gave our puppet a name, an age and even thought about their favourite food!
We practised our silly voices too!

The morning boys and girls helped Dave to act out the story of the gingerbread man. While the boys and girls in the afternoon helped Dave to act out the story of the Billy Goats Gruff.

Dave showed us lots of his other puppets too.
Lots of us recognised his Sooty and Sweep puppets.
Many of us really liked his mermaid puppet too.
This week we have been continuing to follow our interest in Pirates!
We have been practising our balancing skills by Walking the Plank!
We had to be very careful as there were sharks in the water!

We had great excitment when Captain Red Beard visited us again this week!
This week he had left us something very special.

He left us a note telling us to look for the 'x marks the spot'
We quickly found it outside. Under the X was his treasure chest!
Captain Red Beard has asked us to keep it safe for him.

We were all keen to draw our own 'Treasure Chests'
Lots of us drew coins and jewels. Some of us even drew a pirate beside the treasure chest.

Last week we were keen to play on the Climbing Frame in the Nursery.
Quickly our climbing frame became a Pirate Ship!
We started becoming pirates and sailing the seven seas!
We were really keen to find out more about Pirates!
Last week we had a special visitor who left us something in Nursery!
Outside, hidden in a bottle we found a special message from Captain Red Beard.
Lots of us were very excited!

Later that week he came back again!
He left us another message and we found his missing eye patch too!
In the compost there was a big foot print too. It was much bigger than all of our footprints!
We started to wonder if it was Captain Red Beard's footprint!
We started to draw our own pictures to show what we thought Captain Red Beard might look like.
Lots of us drew his eyepatch.
Lots of us drew his big, long red beard too.

Some of us thought he might have a hook for a hand and other people thought he might have a special treasure map.

We used our Pirate masks to help us plan where we would like to play in the nursery last week too.
