We have been loving our role play cafe in the nursery for a number of weeks now.
This week we visited a real cafe!
Thank you so much to Argo's. We had a fantastic visit!

We were able to select our snack from our own 'peedie' menu!
We also bought and paid for our snack at the counter.
Then we all enjoyed eating our snack in the shop too.

Many of us have been interested in the season 'Autumn'.
We have been finding out about this season and the changes that happen in Autumn.
We decided to have some 'Autumn Soup' in our water tray this week.
Some of the boys and girls went on a hunt to find the ingredients around the school.
They decided to add some leaves, branches and some flowers.

Throughout the term we have been busy developing our fine motor skills and mark making.
This week we drew some super self-portraits.
We have all popped them in our Learning Files so you can see them too.

We enjoyed some more playground games in the hall this week too.

This week the bumble bees had a wee go at baking for our snack.
We all had a turn at measuring, stirring and pouring the ingredients and all did a fantastic job at taking turns.
Well Done!

We are all enjoying our sensory trays at the writing table.
We have been busy writing and mark making in fake snow, shaving foam and Sahara Sand this week.
Some of us have been writing in it.
Others have been drawing and some of us have been enjoying the different textures on our fingers and even noses!

More Autumn Fun Inspired Fun!
Many of us have loved painting the big tree branches in the art room.

We have been leaf printing and leaf painting too!

While others have enjoyed exploring all of our Autumn Themed items on the tough spot.
We have been using the magnifying glasses to look at the items closely.
We have also been using the tweezers and scissors to explore.

Mrs Garson popped in last week to do a wee PE lesson with the Bumble Bees.

Her lesson was using simple carpet tiles and was fantastic!

The children has a great time, strengthening muscles as they pulled each other around on the carpet tiles!

They used their listening skills and co-ordination as they placed different body parts onto the carpet tiles too.

Mrs Garson is returning tomorrow.
The butterflies will experience this super lesson then and she will visit us the following week too so that the Ladybirds can have a wee shot also.

The children all loved this lesson and were all keen to go straight back!
A huge thank you to Mrs Garson..

The Butterflies were busy baking too!
They made us all a delicious snack!
This week the Bumble bees will be baking on Thursday.

We enjoyed a fun game during Small Group Time.
We played 'Guess what is hiding in the Sock!'

The children really enjoyed this game.
It was super at encouraging them to use all of their different senses.
It encouraged lots of communication and language too.

Later in the week, they were added in to the sensory tray which the children enjoyed investigating and exploring too.

Remember to pop back at the end of the week to see what we have been getting up to this week.

A huge thank you to all who popped in to visit us in the nursery on Thursday evening.
It was lovely to see lots of familiar faces from previous years popping back to see us too!

Last week we were enjoying some really lovely Autumn weather.
We were making the most of it and enjoyed lots of time outside!

Many of the children enjoyed hanging up the washing on our clothes line.
Some were keen to match the socks.
Others, making their little finger muscles stronger by opening and closing the pegs.

Last week, it was the caterpillars turn to have a go a baking.
They did a really super job!

Here they are enjoying mixing the ingredients and looking at the recipe book.

We were continuing to enjoy our building site outside.
Inside, we were enjoying to build too.
We have some super half size wooden bricks that have just arrived in the nursery.
They are proving so popular that we have another set on the way!

Scrap store fun continued to be really popular outside again this week.
Following the children's interests, we have planned for more next week too.

Washing the clothes and babies in the water tray inside the nursery too.

Last week in the nursery we had a 'clothes' theme, following on from some of the children's interests.

We enjoyed listening to the story 'Pants' and loved designing our very own pants too.

We even made some paper clothes using newspaper.
Look at all our super little models showing of their latest designs!

There were lots of smiles at the snack table!

Many of the children were keen to learn about 'houses' this week.
In the art room many of the children were very busy making houses from the junk modelling.

What a super job they all did!
We have displayed them all for you to see if you take a peep in the art room.

We had a small group choice activity in the hall this week.
Some of the children decided they would like to do a little more yoga this week.
They had great fun learning about how we can keep fit and healthy.

Scrap store fun outside!
We had great fun using our creativity and imagination outside with these resources.

We jumped in our boats and rowed away to far away places...
What great team work too!
We helped each other to pull our friends around the outdoor area.
What great fun we had.

We visited the hall this week for some yoga.
A huge well done to our little super star who showed us how to do many positions including the tree and the warrior position.

They had great fun finding the correct colour of blocks and popping them in their bag!
There was great excitement as they poured the contents of their bag out and counted what was inside!
Super colour recognition and counting. Well Done!
More colour fun! Colour mixing outside in the sun.

The  children loved the texture, creating new colours and generally getting really messy!
What fun!

Another busy, fun filled week in the nursery.
Many of the children were becoming interested in COLOUR!

Following on from their interest, we had a 'colour theme' this week.

We were busy at the science and investigation table.
Lots of us were exploring the colour sorting bugs and different forms of transport by colour.

Rainbow Playdough fun in the sun.
What could be better?

Mud, Mud glorious mud..........

The children loved getting their waterproof trousers on and having some great muddy fun!

Pouring, Filling, Mixing and Baking were all happening at the mud kitchen area.

Last week the children were keen to use the runny glue!
They had more opportunities for this throughout this week too.
The art room has been a busy place with colour collage and rainbow finger painting this week.

Time for a little bit of 'planning' too.
The children loved using the telescope to tell the children where they were going to play yesterday.

Keep checking the blog for more pictures of what has been happening in the nursery this week.
