Well what a busy old week it has been in the nursery!

We thought you might like to see some of the many things we have been up to this week!
We had an absolutely super visit from the Coast Guards this week!
You can tell by the big smiles that the children are having a great time!
We have been learning about Road Safety and it was great to find out about the emergency services and how the Coast Guards keep us safe too!

Here we are getting busy for the Co-op Fundraiser this weekend.
On Thursday we all helped to make a banner to display in the Co-op window.
We are drew super pictures of people holding their heart shaped balloons.
It looks great!
Pancake Day was on Tuesday.
Here we are all making our own pancakes to have for our snack.
And on Monday it was Chinese New Year!
Time for a spot of Dragon Dancing in the hall!
Some of our younger boys and girls were interested in feeding the birds.
They made their own fat balls and left them outside to feed the birds.

Time to investigate the scales and weigh different objects at the science and investigation area too!

We think all our boys and girls will need a rest after such a busy week.
Have a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing some of you in the Co-op over the weekend.

We have been very busy learning about Road Safety this week.

A huge thank you to Sheila, our lollipop lady who popped in to see us this week.

Sheila showed us all how to cross the road safety.
She brought in her lollipop stick for us to see.
Lots of us had great fun having a wee go too.
She should us how she uses her lollipop to keep all of the children safe.
She showed us how she holds out her arms.
She showed us how to look left and look right.

We helped the other children in our nursery cross the road safety too.

In our outdoor area, we set up some pretend roads and a zebra crossing.
Sheila helped us to cross the road safety.
Some of us were the traffic.
We had to remember to stop and wait until the children had crossed the zebra crossing carefully.
She also showed us the special clothes that she wears when she is helping the children cross the road.
It is very bright.
It is fluorescent. This means we can easily see it, even when it starts to get dark.

We had a very exciting day yesterday!
We noticed there was a carrot on the nursery door!
We checked the fridge, all of our carrots were missing!!

We  had a little look. There were more carrots outside the nursery!
We followed them.
We didn't know where they would go but we started to wonder if Ralfy the rabbit had been visiting us again!

We followed the carrots.
They led us us to the library!
In the library was a huge pile of books.
On top of the books was Ralfy Rabbit!
Luckily we stopped him from stealing all our books.
Instead we stayed in the library and read some stories to him, phew!

Another busy week in the Nursery!

We have been busy reading our last Scottish Book Award book this week.
It was called Wanted! Ralfy Rabbit, Book Burglar.
The children have really enjoyed this book!
Ralfy Rabbit has been popping up all over our Nursery.
Luckily we had lots of eager policemen to catch him!
The children have been enjoying using their imagination and creativity in our new role play Police Station.

The children enjoyed the lovely winter days at the beginning of the week.
Some of the children went out and about to explore.
Many enjoyed exploring the ice and the icy puddles on the way.

Lots of the children were keen to explore the winter days and snow further.
Some of the children started to make snowmen.
We then decided to make some 'snowman playdough'
It was lovely and white and sparkly, just like the snow and ice.
Many of us added twigs for legs and arms and lots of us decided to use pipe cleaners to make scarves.
Some of us made fantastic spiders too with very long legs.

Investigating the snow and ice in our outdoor area.

We have been busy learning about Road Safety this week too.
We were excellent at using our imaginations as we visited the hall for some road safety drama.

A hue thank you to everyone who came along to our Christmas Craft morning!
It really was a super morning.

Here are some of the children enjoying painting a stained glass window.
Busy making paper chains, threading beads and getting busy with the glitter!
Christmas colouring and making snowmen.
Glitter, Glitter everywhere!
You can never have too much glitter at Christmas time!

Time to get ready for the Christmas Concert!
Making and trying on our Donkey Ears in the nursery!
Don't they look great!
Time for our school Christmas Dinner!
What a super Christmas Dinner we all had!
We went through to the school dining hall for our Christmas Dinner.
We all did so well and enjoyed eating our Christmas Lunch with the rest of the school.
After our lunch we headed back through to the nursery for a spot of Christmas Strictly Come Dancing Fun!
We put the Christmas Music on and danced while some of the children held up their scores!
