A huge thank you to everyone who kindly purchased items from our Nursery Fundraiser stall last week.

The children were very busy in the nursery helping to get all of the fundraiser items ready.
They were great little elves and did a super job!

The children each made two baubles to sell at our fundraiser. They painted their whole hand white to make snowman baubles and painted their thumb brown to make reindeer baubles. It was great fun!
The boys and girls in nursery were very busy making cards to sell at our fundraising stall too.
We all helped to make Christmas Shortbread to sell.
It was very popular and it sold out quickly!
We used different shaped cutters and made stars, bells and even Christmas tree shaped shortbread.
We sold bags of Rudolph noses last week too.
In nursery, we all helped to count eight maltesers in to our bags and added a red one for Rudolph's nose!
Lots of us were very busy helping to make reindeer food.
Let's hope we all remember to sprinkle it outside on Christmas Eve so that Santa knows where to stop!

A huge thank you to everyone who managed to come along to our Christmas craft day on Monday.
It was a huge success and the nursery is certainly looking ready for Christmas now!
Lots of us helped to paint a stained glass window!
It looks really super in the nursery and from outside too.

We were all very busy taking part in all of the Christmas craft activities. We had great fun.
Once our craft afternoon was over, the nursery was looking fab!
Well Done everyone for all your hard work.

We had a super day in the nursery last Friday and enjoyed taking part in the 'Children in Need' activities.

Lots of us came to nursery in our pyjamas for the day and enjoyed our children in need sleepover.

Many of the boys and girls enjoyed having a pudsey bear facepaint and also gave their teddies a pudsey bear make over!

We enjoyed our bedtime treat of hot chocolate and marshmallows under the 'parachute' blanket.

We thought the hot chocolate was delicious!

We all got cosy in our big bed!
We snuggled under the covers for our 'Katie Morag' bedtime story together.

We have been very busy learning about road safety in the nursery too.

Last week we had a very special visitor to the nursery!
The lollipop lady visited us.
She came to talk to us all about how we should cross the road safely
We all listened really well and she helped us to cross our very own zebra crossing carefully.

It's been another couple of very busy weeks in the nursery!

We thought you might like to see some of the many things that the nursery boys and girls have been up to.

We enjoyed listening and responding to the Katy Perry song 'Firework'

We used our brightly coloured ribbons to help us to move around the hall like fireworks.

We listened to the music and tried to move our bodies quickly when the music was loud and slowly when the music was quiet.

We tried to move our body to look like fireworks and enjoyed jumping, twirling and running.
We were very active just like the fireworks in the sky!

We enjoyed making firework pictures too.

We used the special brusho paint and water to make our super firework pictures!

We helped to keep the Stromness Tradition of pops alive in the nursery.

We had great fun designing and making our own 'Pops'

Lots of us enjoyed using the wool for their hair, googly eyes and even coloured lollipop sticks to help design our creations.

We all had a fantastic ‘Wear it Pink’ day last week and would like to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us in wearing pink in the nursery.
We would also like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to everyone who kindly donated to our ‘Wear it Pink’ day. We managed to raise £96.20 for Breast Cancer Research.

We all had a great 'Wear it Pink' day yesterday!

We went on a little tour all around the school to show them all our wonderful pink costumes!

We helped to prepare our special 'pink snack' too.

We made some special pink buns, pink marshmallow pops and even had some pink milk!
We enjoyed munching our pink snack!
We had great fun with all our 'pink' craft activities too.

We had pink jellybath in our water tray. It felt really funny. Some of us thought it was really slimy!

What a busy day!

We enjoyed dressing up in pink, painting with pink paint, decorating superhero masks and lots more!

This week we have all been very busy finding out the famous Orcadian, John Rae.
On Tuesday we all went on an adventure.
Here we are at the John Rae Statue. He has as knife and a gun for hunting.

We visited the Stromness Museum too.
It helped us to find out what life was like almost 200 years ago!

We even put porridge oats in our sensory tray!
Lots of us loved the feeling of the porridge oats on our fingers.

We used the porridge oats to make a yummy snack too.
Some of us helped to make 'oaty biscuits'

.... and just like Goldilocks and the three bears we munched up our yummy porridge.
It tasted 'just right'

We changed our house into the three bears cottage and waited to see if Goldilocks would come and visit us!

We had three beds! A big bed, a medium sized bed and a small bed.
We had lots of big, medium and small items in our house too for our bears and Goldilocks to play with.
The three bears liked their cottage. Goldilocks sneaked in a few times too!
We had great fun last week learning all about the story of 'Goldilocks and the three bears'.
We helped to make a wood in our nursery.
We were all very busy hand painting on our doors!
We hand painted our trees green and painted our trunks brown.

We had lots of little monkeys in nursery last week!

Our song of the week was 'Five little monkeys jumping on the bed'

We had a very important visitor this week in nursey.
Mr Mole came to visit us!
He helped to show us all how to play our musical instruments.

We have been using lots of different types of puppets to help us to plan and review our learning in nursery this week.

We loved the big puppets. Mr Croc was one of our favourites!
We made our own paper bag puppets too.
