Here's a few pictures from the last couple of weeks.

We have been busy listening to and recalling some traditional tales.

We used paper bag puppets that we had designed to retell the story.

We did a really super job, remembering the characters of the story.
We could also remember the plot of the story and remember the main parts.

Small group activity fun!
We have been busy investigating magnets!
We used magnets to explore around the nursery looking for magnetic and non-magnetic items.
We had great fun!

Play on Pedals!

We have been having great fun learning all about 'Play on Pedals'
All throughout last week and this week the children have been busy learning about Play On Pedals.

The children have all been taught the 'Wobble Test' and now know how to check if their helmet is too big or too small!
They have learned about keeping safe and the need to always wear a helmet.

Before riding their bikes, the children have also learnt to complete the 'M' check!
They all now know how to check their pedals, brakes, seat and frame before getting on their bike.
They have been fantastic at these checks.
Look back soon for some more pictures of the children learning their 'froggy legs'
It has been fantastic fun for both the adults and the children!

We have been busy planting too!

Look back at the blog to see more of what we have been getting up to this week.

And finally folks.... Some pictures to share with you!
We are back online!
So sorry we have been having difficulty getting the website to work lately to get these uploaded for you.
It's working today, so here we go!

Enjoy browsing these pictures from the term so far. It has been a very busy and exciting start to Term 4.

Here we are busy on the Market Green.
Lindsay from the RSPB invited us to join her for a senses walk.
We had a super, super time.
We investigated both colour and texture.
We also used Listening stones to see what we could hear.

We also had a very busy week focusing on Magnus 900.
Lucie's dad came in to visit us in the nursery.
He is an archaeologist!
We were all very excited to listen and observe as we found out more about his special job.
He showed us lots of artefacts and told us about the sorting trays.
We found out that archaelogists put their precious finds in trays to categorise and identify what it is.

We all enjoyed this visit so much that we set up our own Archaelogist Dig!

Katrina Garson visited us too.
She took some newspaper with her!
With Katrina we had a lesson that taught us all about resilience and not giving up!

We popped newspaper on our head and tried to balance it!
Some of us moved fast, while others decided to move slow.

We were snakes too! We make our newspaper wriggle and slither like a snake!

This was a really tricky challenge!
We tried to move the newspaper by blowing.
We were just like the Big Bad Wolf! We huffed and we puffed and we did it!

At the end of our week celebrating Magnus 900, we held a closing assembly on the Friday afternoon.
We joined to see the fantastic Longships that the children made as part of their house challenge.

After the closing assembly, we all popped out to watch the Viking Ships being launched.
What a super ending to our Magnus 900 week.

Snow!
We all enjoyed playing in the snow that just didn't stop falling all morning!

As part of our transition activities, we joined the big playground for a rather snowy adventure!
What fun!

Time to explore the 'Big' Playground on a less snowy day too!
The children are exploring the big playground so confidently as they get ready for Primary One.
We are really proud of them!

We have been busy exploring letters!
We had great fun making letters with the Pipe Cleaners.
... Glitter Trays!
We had great fun mark making and writing in the glitter too.
Some of, well lots of us really went home looking like little Christmas Trees too! ;-)

Time to explore and play in our super new Sandpit too!
We love it!!

We had some super fun playing games too.
We practiced taking turns and sharing.
We played some memory games too.

We had to use our observation skills to see what was missing!
We have been reading some Traditional Tales and stories this week.
Using Paper Bags we made paper bag puppets to act out some of our stories such as Jack and the Beanstalk.
Time to explore magnets this week too!
We have been very busy looking to find out about materials that are Magnetic and Non-Magnetic.

We have been learning more about 2D and 3D shape too.
We have been using 'feely' bags to feel the different shapes.

As some of our children get ready for Primary One, we have been visiting different parts of the school.
Last week they visited the music room.
What fun they had exploring the musical instruments.

And finally, following the children's interest some really super fun outside playing playground games!
What's the time Mr Wolf and Duck, Duck Goose were both very popular.
Remember to pop back so for some more pictures and updates.

Here are a few pics from the last couple of weeks.
With Comic Relief yesterday and the opening of our new sand/stone pit area it's been a busy old week.

The children were really keen to talk to Sam Green this week.
Lots of eager children keen to help as the final touches are added to our outdoor area.
Peep! What can you see through the fence?
Not long to wait now!

Yeah fun in the sun!
Is there anyone in there?

Wednesday was a super visit to the Muga for some parachute fun!

We now have a baby dragon in the nursery playground!
She needed our help.
She is feeling rather cold and needed some mosaic tiles to make her feel warm.
Here are some of the children designing what they would like her to look like.

Look at all of those shiny teeth this week!
It was time for our fluoride varnish this week too.

We are loving the sunglasses!

What lovely creative play and team work with the planks and tyres outside today!

Mr McIntosh popped in to say hello too!
He had some more Head Teacher Awards to hand out.
Well Done. We are really proud of you!

Drawing fun in the sun!
Spring has arrived!

Tooth Brushes, Teeth and Toothpaste fun in the water tray!
This was a very popular activity with the children.
A super way to teach the children how to brush those teeth correctly.

Here are some of the children receiving their Head Teacher Awards at Monday's achievement assembly.

Some super imaginative play in the construction area this week.
The children have been enjoying the new carpet tiles and carpet tubes too.

Music Fun!
I am the music man, I come from down your way and I can play....

Lots of number fun too!

Rainbow Rice in the sensory tray!

Do you recognise these little people!?!
Red Nose Day Fun!

Decorating our 'Red Buns' for Red Nose Day!

And finally....The Red Ribbon was cut and we had great fun exploring our new sand and stone pit area!
Cheesy smiles and waves for the local press!

Sam Green and the children cut the ribbon!

Our new Sand and stone pit area now officially open for business.
We are delighted and it got a big thumbs up from the hardest critics our little super stars!

A huge thank you to Sam Green, our local Co-op, our Parent council, our children and all our families and customers in the Co-op who helped to make the fundraising event successful!
We cannot thank you enough.
Now watch this space as we decide which part to develop next! :-)
